REVIEW
OF INTERNATIONAL AMERICAN STUDIES (RIAS) is the official
electronic journal of the International American Studies
Association, the only worldwide, independent, non-governmental
association of American Studies. RIAS serves as agora for the
global network of international scholars, teachers, and students
of America as hemispheric and global phenomenon. RIAS is devoted
to the dissemination of scholarly research, noteworthy
professional and institutional developments in the field, and news
of interest to Americanists around the world. The goal of the
International American Studies Association consists in furthering
the international exchange of ideas and information among scholars
from all nations and various disciplines who study and teach
America regionally, hemispherically, nationally, and
transnationally. RIAS is intended to enhance this mission by
serving as a forum for Americanists from all parts of the globe.
Of particular interest to RIAS are studies and reports with a
comparatist focus across borders, disciplines, and linguistic
traditions, whether in the humanities or the social sciences.
Likewise, transatlantic or transpacific studies, or theoretically
oriented essays that explore and interrogate the history of
discursive formations and/or the structures of disciplinary and
institutional parameters are of particular interest to RIAS.
